What is in SoundOn Monthly Statements?

Monthly Statements are the royalty reports provided by SoundOn for all contracted artists. You could download the PDF or CSV file through SoundOn platform.
The PDF file contains the summary of royalty data. The fields included are as follows:

  • Gross Revenue: Royalties received in relation to your tracks
  • Expense: third party costs and expenses including marketing, production expenses
  • Net Revenue: Royalties after deducting expense from gross income, including marketing cost, production cost, distribution fee etc
  • Artist Share: Your royalties after commission
  • Recouped revenue: Royalties to be recouped from artist share
  • Royalty Split: the royalty split when you share royalties with other artists or when you receive royalties from other artists through the Royalty Split function



The CSV file provides detailed revenue for each song which contains three sheets, namely My Royalty, Share out, Share in.


My Royalty: royalty data of all songs that you rece
Share out: royalty data that you shared with other artists
Share in: royalty data that other artists shared with you


Explanations of the columns included:

  • Sales Period:Date of the consumption month
  • Reporting Period:Date of the reporting month
  • Track ID:SoundOn's Song ID
  • Track Title:Track name
  • ISRC:Track ISRC code
  • Track Artists:Primary artists
  • UPC Code:Universal product code
  • Album Title:Release title (Album, EP, Single)
  • Release Date:Date when the album was released
  • Royalty Type:Including Recording, Publishing, Commercial music library (CML). 'Recording' refers to the royalty generated whenever the music recordings are streamed, downloaded etc. 'Publishing' refers to the royalty generated whenever the lyrics/composition are streamed, downloaded etc, if artists/labels have authorized the related rights to SoundOn. 'CML' refers to the royalty generated from commercial usage if artists/labels have authorized the related rights to SoundOn, such as advertisements featuring your songs.
  • Store Name:Name of distributed platforms
  • Sales Region:Region where the creation/stream/download was generated in ISO-2
  • Sales Type:Including creation, streaming, downloads, business account, promotion advertising, non-promotion advertising, video stream, video download etc
  • Sales Sub Type:User type,including ad-supported, trial, student, family, UGC, PGC etc
  • Units of Sold:Total number of creations/ streams/ downloads
  • Exchange rate:Exchange rate from USD to local currency, SoundOn uses an average monthly exchange rate for calculation
  • Currency:Currency reported to you by SoundOn
  • Gross revenue:Royalties received in relation to your tracks
  • Expense: Expenses that need to be deducted from gross income, including marketing cost, production cost, distribution fee etc
  • Net revenue:Royalties after deducting expenses from gross income, including marketing cost, production cost etc
  • Artist share:Your royalties after commission
  • Recouped revenue:Royalties to be recouped from artist share
  • Royalty Split Percentage:the royalty split when you share royalties with other artists or when you receive royalties from other artists through the Royalty Split function
  • Final Royalty:Your final earnings
  • Net Royalty
    • Share out: The royalties distributed to each artist/label
    • Share in: The royalties distributed to you by other artists/labels
  • Payee: The artists/labels that you share your royalty with
