I used my music in a post on Facebook and Instagram and it has been muted. Why?
When your songs are delivered to Facebook, they are not directly provided to an artist’s page. Instead, they are made available to use within Facebook and Instagram's sound library. This may cause your content to be blocked.


Can you allowlist my release on Facebook and Instagram?
All official pages are considered by Facebook and Instagram as third party pages. You can request your page to be allowlisted if you plan on uploading content with your music embedded in it. You can request your page to be allowlisted by sending us the following details:

• Artist name
• Title of the release in question
• Facebook profile link
• Instagram profile link
• ISRC and UPC

Can you allowlist an old post?
No, Facebook and Instagram don't apply allowlisting retrospectively. If your post was already created on a profile that wasn't allowlisted, it has to be taken down and reuplaoded once the allowlisting has been applied.


I can't find my release on Facebook & Instagram
It is possible that your content is being blocked on Facebook / Instagram due to a change in Meta's delivery feed; the regions that are getting notification for blocked content are not currently serviced by the Facebook Audio Library, so content is muted there. Unfortunately, we are not able to do anything to amend this from our side.


However, if there is a need or desire to make your content available in the affected markets, and you have permission to share everything in the video, please use the ‘appeal’ button on the notification. Please note the appeals work on a content-by-content basis.


Otherwise, if you are not able to find your music on Facebook / Instagram, first double check that your release has been approved by SoundOn by going into "Distribution / My Releases" in your artist portal. If your release was rejected, please go back and resubmit it with the necessary edits. Releases that have not been approved won't show on Facebook or Instagram.


If your release has been approved, please refer to the content guidelines. Music containing this content will not be delivered to Facebook or Instagram. Otherwise please reach out to us if you are not able to find your content on Facebook / Instagram!
