What is the Royalty Splits feature?
SoundOn supports all accounts in sharing royalties with collaborators of the same country of legal residence, such as artists, feature artists, producers, or even other labels.
SoundOn automatically split earnings between the inviter and collaborators, without taking an additional service fee.
Note: SoundOn's Royalty Splits feature is only available to label account holders. We hope to roll this out to all users soon.


Which collaborators can be invited?
Only collaborators from the same country of legal residence as the inviter can be invited to share the royalties via SoundOn. We will ask them to accept your invitations within their SoundOn account. If they do not have an account with us, they will need to create one first.

How to create a split?
There are 2 ways to access the Create Royalty Splits page.

1. After you upload a release, you can click the 'Create Splits Now' button on the release page
2. Navigate to the ''Analytics & Earnings' tab and select the 'Royalty Splits' page. Click the 'Create Splits' button.

You can also check all the royalty splits you have created or accepted on this page.
Create a split and invite your collaborators via their email address. Once all of them accept the invitation, we'll send the following month's payment to their SoundOn account automatically at the rate you have allocated.


When will the collaborators receive the email invitation?
After your release gets approved by us and sent to the streaming services, collaborators will get an invitation code via their email address with instructions on how to accept.
Keep in mind that the invitation email is only valid for 30 days. You can click 'invite again' on the split page to send the invitation email again if it has expired.


When will the splits take effect?
Once all collaborators added on the track have accepted the invitation, then percentage royalties you have input will be sent to their account directly, on the next payment date.
Before that, the track's earnings will still be sent to the inviter's account. So don't forget to remind your collaborators to check their emails and accept the invitations!


Where can I check the detailed reporting?
You can download all data on the 'Analytics & Earnings' -> 'My Earnings'->'Monthly statements' page. Only the inviter report includes the payment that all collaborators get from the monthly earnings report. Collaborators who get invited share a split, can only see their own earning report, they would not able to see other collaborators reporting.

How can I update the splits after submission?
Currently, we do not support the update function on the website. Please submit a support ticket and our team will update it on your behalf.
After any updates or changes, you will get a confirmation notification and email, and your collaborators will get an email to remind them to accept the new offer again.
New updates will be activated after all parties accept the new invitation and will be effective on the next payment date.
