Artist IDs are unique identifiers assigned to every artist on DSPs to ensure releases get mapped to the correct artist profile.


When submitting a release to SoundOn, you will be asked if you have existing artist pages on Spotify and Apple Music. If you have previously distributed music on Spotify and Apple Music, you can enter your Artist IDs and we will ensure your release gets mapped to your existing artist profile.


Finding your Artist ID is easy. Please refer to the steps below:
Finding Your Artist ID on Spotify:
There are two ways to find your Spotify artist ID:
Using the Spotify desktop app:
Search for your artist profile and click on the "..." icon that appears below your artist name.
Choose Share -> Copy link to artistPaste this link in a web browser.
Your Spotify Artist ID should be located between "artist/" and "?".
For example: the Spotify artist ID for the link below is 0C0XlULifJtAgn6ZNCW2eu.

Using the Spotify web app: Search for your artist profile
Check the url for your profile, which should begin with “https://open.spotify.com/artist/”. The string of text that appears after "artist/" is your Spotify artist ID.


Finding Your Artist ID on Apple Music:
Open the Apple Music desktop app or visit the Apple Music website
Search for your artist profile and click on the apple_icon that appears right to your artist name
Choose Share -> Copy link
Paste the link in a web browser. The last portion of the link (after your artist name) should be a string of numbers. This string of numbers is your Apple Music Artist ID.
For example: the Apple Music Artist ID for the artist below is 1065981054.


Where to find my Apple Music Artist ID?

1. Open the Apple Music desktop app or visit the Apple Music website
2. Search for your artist profile and click on the apple_icon
3. that appears right to your artist name
4. Choose Share -> Copy link
5. Paste the link in a web browser. The last portion of the link (after your artist name) should be a string of numbers. This string of numbers is your Apple Music Artist ID.
6. For example: the Apple Music Artist ID for the artist below is 1065981054.

Lastly, if you are unable to locate your Spotity for Apple Music IDs using the directions above, please confirm your artist name and please send in screenshots of your artist pages on Spotify and Apple and we can send the IDs through to you.
