YouTube Topic Channels & Art Tracks
What Is a YouTube Topic Channel / YouTube Art Track?
YouTube automatically generates "art tracks" (stylized as the below), which then feed directly into YouTube Music. YouTube also directly generates Topic Channels to host their art track videos.
An example of art tracks / a YouTube "Various Artists" Topic Channel can be found here.
These "art track" videos then feed into YouTube Music to generate content there.
Some things to remember:
- We are not able to move your Art Tracks to your YouTube channel
- We cannot edit / update / remove Topic Channels or change Art Track video descriptions
- If you do find your art track mapped to a "Various Artists" channel or mapped to the incorrect artist's Topic Channel, please reach out to us with the following information so that we can correct it for you:
- Link to incorrectly mapped track
- Link to your Topic Channel / YouTube Music page (or please let us know if you need a new one created)
YouTube Official Artist Channels
We can in some circumstances request that your YouTube channel is updated to be an Official Artist Channel (OAC). For more information on OACs please refer to YouTube's Help Center.
You / your channel needs to meet the following criteria to be eligible for an OAC. If you meet the requirements below, please reach out to us so that we can request to have an OAC created you:
- Own and operate a YouTube channel that represents one artist or band
- Have at least 3 official music video releases on YouTube delivered and distributed by a music distributor or label
- Art Tracks / Topic Channel videos do not count
- Have no policy violations on your channel
Please note, once requested, OAC creation can take up to 1 month.
