What performance metrics will I have access to?

'Analytics' offers daily trend data, including the data of TikTok, TikTok Music, Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, YouTube Music, YouTube Content ID, Pandora, and Amazon.
Especially for TikTok, SoundOn provides various metrics, such as total TikTok videos created using your tracks, total TikTok video views of creations containing your music.
'My Earnings' provides royalty data in different dimensions monthly, including stores, tracks, albums,artists, sales regions,sales period, reporting period, royalty type, sales type etc. Users have the flexibility to customize and download the specific data they need based on their requirements.

You get paid based on the pro rata share of your songs' creations. In general, the more videos created with your tracks, the higher the creation proportion possibly would be, resulting in increased royalty.

How do I make a withdrawal?

Currently, SoundOn supports the following payout methods in different countries:

When will I get paid?

SoundOn provides the monthly statements for each calendar month, around the 25th of each month (with potential delays during holidays).
SoundOn provides artists with all the reporting data received in the previous 30 days in monthly statements. Artists can rely on monthly statements to stay informed about their royalties.

Minimum payout threshold

The minimum payout thresholds for different currencies are as follows,

Artificial streaming and how it affects your royalties

Our streaming partners work diligently to ensure streams are legitimate, meaning they reflect genuine user listening intent. If a service finds that you (or a third party hired by you or on your behalf) have boosted play counts through any automated, deceptive, fraudulent or other invalid means (digital bots, “click farms”, payment for placement on playlists, etc.), the service may permanently remove your entire catalog.
Streaming Services have processes in place to detect artificial streams and prevent bad actors from using streaming platforms to collect fraudulent royalties.
See below some quotes from Spotify on their Artificial Streaming Education guidelines.
  • “An artificial stream is a stream that doesn't reflect genuine user listening intent, including any instance of attempting to manipulate Spotify by using automated processes (bots or scripts). We put significant engineering resources and research into detecting, mitigating, and removing artificial streaming activity on Spotify so that nothing stands in the way of our mission of giving artists the opportunity to live off their art, and so that rights holders are paid as fairly as possible for their work. The integrity of this is incredibly important to us because an illegitimate stream means there are honest, hard-working artists on the other side that are impacted.”
To make sure that all streams on your tracks come from legitimate sources, SoundOn recommends against working with third party platforms that claim to guarantee a certain number of streams or playlist placements on Spotify or other DSPs. If you’re in the market for a music promotion service, make sure to do your research before you hire them.
  • Third parties that promise playlist placements or a specific number of streams in exchange for compensation are likely using illegitimate practices without your knowledge. These services can threaten your hard work, resulting in the potential withholding of streams or royalties, or even complete removal of your catalog from streaming services.
Both SoundOn, Spotify and other Streaming services have technologies to identify sources of fraudulent streams, and, if detected, SoundOn reserves the right to withhold streaming royalties and take down tracks that have a high number of detected artificial streams and ban users from using the service in the future.

Why is there song data on the 'Analytics' dashboard but not in 'My Earnings' and 'Monthly Statements'?

This is because the time periods for data provided in 'Analytics', 'My Earnings', and 'Monthly Statements' are different.
  1. 'Analytics': Provides daily trend data with a delay of 2 days.
  2. 'Monthly Statements'/'My Earnings': Provides monthly settlement data. Also, stores report an entire month’s sales to SoundOn in different schedules（most delay 1~3 months), resulting in a delay disiplaying of partial catalogue.

Why is my creation/streaming data increasing while my revenue is decreasing?

Different stores offer varying settlement methods, and here lists the settlement methods for some major stores:
  1. TikTok: based on the pro rata share of the creations of your songs.
  2. Commercial Music Library (CML): a portion of the ad revenue generated from commercial advertisements featuring your songs will be extracted as commercial revenue.
  3. TikTok Music/Resso: obtained from TikTok Music/Resso's monthly subscription revenue based on the proportion of streams.
  4. Spotify: obtained from Spotify's monthly ad & subscription revenue based on the proportion of streams.
  5. YouTube Music: obtained from YouTube's monthly ad & subscription revenue based on the proportion of streams
  6. YouTube Content ID: a portion of the ad revenue generated from videos featuring this song will be extracted as your revenue.
  7. Apple Music: obtained from Apple Music's monthly subscription revenue based on the proportion of streams.
  8. Facebook/Instagram: obtained from Facebook/Instagram's production events featuring your songs. The rates per production event vary each month depending on the amount of usage for that month.
As shown above, most stores' settlements rely on the revenue per month and the usage of the songs. Your royalties will fluctuate when the stores' revenue and your creation/stream data change.

Why am I unable to withdraw my revenue?

You need to check if you have reached the minimum withdrawal amount. If it doesn't meet the threshold, you won't be able to initiate a withdrawal.

Why is my withdrawal taking so long to process?

Different payment types often require different processing times for withdrawals, especially when using Bank Account payment type, which typically take 3-5 business days to complete.
Additionally, it is important to check if you have received any Request for Information (RFI) notifications or Know Your Customer(KYC) from the channel. Failure to complete the RFI or KYC may prevent you from completing the withdrawal process.

Why is the data in My Earnings & Monthly Statements different from the data in Analytics for the same songs in same period？

Discrepancies in stream/creations data between 'My Earnings'&'Monthly Statements' and 'Analytics' dashboard can be attributed to several factors as below:
  1. Non-royalty-bearing streams (usually refer to the stream with playback duration of less than 30 seconds) that are excluded from royalty statements
  2. Artificial streams/creations that are excluded from royalty statements
  3. Reporting lags or delays in obtaining the most up-to-date data

Why are some of my songs missing from the monthly statement?

If certain songs are missing from the monthly statement, it is likely due to the following reasons:
  1. Has not received reporting data from upstream stores.
  2. Considered as artificial streams by upstream stores and excluded from the reporting data.
  3. No stream/creation data for the song in that particular month, then it will not be reflected in the monthly statement.

What type of TikTok data analysis is currently supported?

- Video performance data, including creations, video views, likes, shares, comments, and favorites.
- Top 10 Video categories, like Daily_Life, Outfit, Sports etc.
- Track Engagement, which is a comprehensive interaction metric based on video performance data.

How can I find the creators' demographics of TikTok?

You can use the Track Insights page and Artist analytics page to find creators' gender and age characteristics. You can also find the creator's top language and region. After that, you can get closer to the next big hit. Try it now!
